Frequently asked questions

What quality should I use?

Around 75 to 82 is a good balance for photos. Go lower only if file size matters more than detail.

Can PNG be compressed?

PNG input is saved as JPG or WebP, which is where the big savings come from. Keep PNG for images that need transparency.

Limits and privacy

Output is always lossy (JPG or WebP). If the compressed file would be larger, you are shown the original size so you can keep it.
