How are words counted?
A word is any run of letters or numbers, including apostrophes and hyphens inside it, so "don't" and "well-known" each count as one.
Is my text saved or uploaded?
No. Counting happens in your browser and nothing is sent to our server.
Limits and privacy
Languages written without spaces (such as Chinese or Japanese) are counted by character runs, not dictionary words.
Everything happens on your device, so your content never reaches our server.
